Clinic Coordinator- IL- Speech Language Pathology

The College of Health Sciences at Midwestern University, Downers Grove Campus, invites applications for a full-time Clinic Coordinator for the Speech-Language Institute within the Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Program.

The Speech-Language Institute (SLI) is the clinical education and service component of the SLP Program. The Clinic Coordinator reports directly to the SLP Program Director and works collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Education. This is a 12-month, full-time, non-tenure-track clinical faculty appointment. Academic rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Clinic Coordinator provides leadership and coordination for the clinical education activities of the residential SLP Program and oversees the day-to-day operations of the SLI. The position supports high-quality graduate clinical education and client services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical education and supervision to graduate student clinicians.
• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the SLI, including clinic and client schedules, student assignments, and clinical resources.
• Maintain and develop a diverse client population sufficient to support the clinical education needs of students and appropriate clinical faculty workloads.
• Coordinate client, student, and clinical faculty schedules and assignments in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Education.
• Participate in graduate teaching and clinical education activities based on program needs and areas of expertise.
• Orient and support students, clinical faculty, and adjunct clinical faculty participating in clinical services.
• Oversee clinical documentation and support accurate maintenance of client records, student clinical experiences, and clinical clock hours.
• Provide training and support for the clinic electronic health record (EHR) system and related clinical technologies.
• Ensure clinic operations comply with University policies, accreditation requirements, and applicable professional and regulatory standards.
• Oversee clinical equipment, assessment materials, therapeutic resources, and supplies necessary to support clinical education and client services.
• Develop, review, and implement clinic policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
• Support community outreach, client recruitment, and the development and promotion of the SLI.
• Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines to support interprofessional clinical education and practice opportunities.
• Facilitate clinical research activities undertaken by students and faculty.
• Engage as an active member of the SLP program and provide service to the program, College, and University.

Qualifications:

• Applicants should hold a master's degree or higher in speech-language pathology, speech-language and hearing sciences, communication sciences and disorders, or a related discipline.
• Certification in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), including the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), is required.
• Current Illinois licensure or eligibility for Illinois licensure as a speech-language pathologist is required.
• Candidates should have experience in clinical practice and supervision of graduate student clinicians.
• Experience in university-based clinical education, clinic coordination or administration, graduate-level teaching, and EHR systems is preferred. Experience with Epic is particularly desirable.
• Knowledge and understanding of ASHA clinical education and accreditation standards is preferred.
