Adjunct Faculty- Physical Therapy

Job Description

The Physical Therapy Institute at Midwestern University, Glendale, Arizona, invites applications from Physical Therapists to provide patient care and oversee students in the Therapy Institute. This position is benefit-ineligible and designed to provide ongoing part-time (up to 2 days/week) clinical coverage, with the potential for additional hours during periods of increased patient demand, provider leave, or temporary staffing needs. This position is clinic-based and does not include classroom teaching or didactic responsibilities.

Position
Responsibilities include direct patient care within the Physical Therapy Institute, with clinical practice emphasis in outpatient musculoskeletal, geriatric, and neurological rehabilitation. The position will likely include supervision and mentoring of physical therapy students during patient care activities in only the clinical setting, consistent with the Institute’s educational mission. Adjunct faculty are expected to collaborate effectively with full-time faculty, staff, and learners to support high-quality patient care and clinical education.

Schedule and Effort
This is a regular part-time clinic position with a predictable baseline schedule, with the opportunity for increased hours during high patient wait times, provider outages, and faculty or staff leave.

Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  1. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from a CAPTE-accredited program
  2. Minimum of three (3) years of outpatient clinical experience
  3. Prior experience working with physical therapy students and/or residents
  4. Current Arizona Physical Therapy license (or eligibility at time of hire)
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds
